To be completely honest I was a little nervous about the Tango dancing, as I'm sure a few
of my classmates were. I'm not a really good dancer. And sometimes, in larger groups of
people I have trouble letting go and I knew that I would have to let go of my inhibitions if
I wanted to get the most out of the Tango experience. I also felt bad because as hard as
I tried I couldn't find a boy who was able to Tango with me.

Fortunately this wasn't a problem. And fortunately, learning the Argentinean Tango was way more fun and way easier than I was expecting. Al was an incredible instructor. His great sense of humor was definitely necessary for a bunch of 18-year old non-Tango dancers. He was a very effective instructor and taught at the perfect pace. I was surprised with how quickly I picked up on everything. I was exasperated when I saw how well he his student could tango.

It was really inspiring to watch them Tango. It was so beautiful. It was the most
emotionally expressive piece of art I've seen in awhile. The two looked like they were
deeply and madly in love. I know they weren't, but the body language of the tango is so emotional and sensual. It really sent tingles up my spine.

The emotion brought out in the dance is what made it so spiritual. To be able to intertwine
body with inward feeling is what I'm gathering spirituality is about. The outright expression
of emotion through the body, using no words, not even traces of facial expression, was, as I
said earlier, simply beautiful. The `body and soul' connection that was compulsory to the
dance was so very spiritual.
