Marcelo...Goddesses of the River

If you are looking for an enticing spot for a future vacation, keep Goddesses of the River in mind. Set in Cahvita, Costa Rica, only ten minutes away from the Caribbean, this Bed and Breakfast will be opening in 2003. Marcelo, a teacher and entrepreneur, has designed a tropical paradise consisting of individual cabins, complete with jacuzzis and air conditioning, surrounded by palm trees, laurel trees and exotic flowers. Nearby, there are Cajun, Jamaican, French and Italian restaurants.

Long stretches of white sandy beaches also beckon, inviting guests to snorkel in the clear turquoise water or to go on tours of the giant sea mushrooms for which the area is famous. There are marvelous animals and birds everywhere, but a man-made wonder also awaits, as Marcelo, a Tango enthusiast, is planning a dance floor for his guests for their evening enjoyment.

During high season, that is December through May, prospective guests will need to book a month in advance as Goddesses of the River only accommodates 20 people. Visitors are welcome for as short a stay as a day ($80) or they can enjoy the special week rate of $400, which includes breakfast. Reservations can be made with cash or credit card.
